Take Me to the Water is a rich selection of songs featuring works written and inspired by Black Americans curated by Ashley Thunder and Kevin D. Mitchell Jr. These songs express :the desire of the God-given right to freedom for those that were enslaved, both here and in Africa.”
The artists will also highlight the subtle forms of oppression that hindered Blacks and other people of color after the abolishment of slavery and proclaim that no one is free until everyone is free.
